“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
1st Prize
Kyle Potter
“In a society rooted in judgement hate and prejudice surround our everyday life. Society will judge you for your ethnicity, beliefs, appearances and culture. Daily people are oppressed for factors that are completely out of their control. Human nature condemns us to give into these atrocious behaviors brewing from ignorance. The solution to the problems is simple yet highly overlooked. By turning ignorance into open-mindedness and hate into compassion our society would be able to reverse this vicious cycle we have created for ourselves.”
2nd Prize
Cianna Logan
“I know that there has been a lot of bullying, stereotyping, discrimination and assuming in this world, and people have to understand that we need to make a change! I have dark skin and I don’t want to have someone make fun of me just because of my skin tone. No one wants that. We are losing our population because of all the bullying, people lose their children because of it! And the people who don’t think before they bully someone will have a permanent scar on them forever because of that person they have killed!!!”
