On Saturday, February 24th, the Saint John Arts Centre was aglow with anticipation and promise as we gathered for the Young Ambassadors Leadership Initiative (YALI) Cohort #2 graduation. This event marked not just an end, but a beginning – a celebration of the journey of transformation, self-discovery, and empowerment undertaken by a group of remarkable young leaders.
YALI Ambassador Paul Amana opened the event with the land acknowledgment, recognizing and honoring the indigenous land upon which the event took place. This act set the stage for a meaningful and respectful engagement, highlighting the importance of acknowledging the history and heritage of the land.
Jackson Enoh, the Executive Director of PRUDE Inc., extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and diversity in leadership development. His words set a tone of unity and collaboration for the rest of the event, emphasizing the values of respect and community.
Guest speaker Idris Gueye delivered an inspiring address tailored to the young leaders of YALI Cohort #2. His words of wisdom and encouragement motivated attendees to embrace their potential and strive for excellence in their leadership journey, setting a tone of empowerment and aspiration.
YALI Cohort #2 participants showcased their passion and dedication by presenting their United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the audience.
