Between Sept. 9 to 18, 2022, PRUDE hosted a serious of activities for our community to both participate in and learn from. We came together to show how we are making our community a more inclusive and barrier-free place for everyone in Saint John.
On Sept. 9, more than 30 participants danced and learned about Latin culture.
More than 15 young adults came to Inside Out Nature Centre on Sept. 11 to enjoy a day of hiking, water activities, kayaking and lunch!
Fourteen students from the Come Together The Canadian Way Program had a great time visiting the Nick Nicolle Centre, Victoria Park and Robertson Square Park, on Sept. 12.
On Sept. 12, Our We Know Diversity Matters | Lunch & Learn Series # 1 both introduced our Bridging Cultural Diversity Training and discussed how it helps to unify the community!
On Sept. 13, the Come Together the Canadian Way Program hosted an open house featuring a speech pathologist to help our students improve their English-language pronunciation.
On Sept. 14, Our We Know Diversity Matters | Lunch & Learn Series # 2 featured the Workplace Bias Recognition presentation. Our Workplace Bias Recognition presentation heightens participants’ awareness of workplace bias by highlighting different types of bias and offering real-world solutions to help correct the issue.
On Sept. 15, Our We Know Diversity Matters | Lunch & Learn Series # 3 featured the Valuing Our Differences workshop we deliver in the schools.
Sept. 16 saw the All Women Project sponsoring a Yoga session with community members to highlight the importance of wellness in overcoming barriers.
#WelcomingWeek2022 is an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the efforts of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants. This year’s Welcoming Week marks the 10th anniversary–and Canada’s third year of participation– of what is now a global event.
